Dragon Bust (2005)
Dragon Bust (2005)I've loved dragons since I was a child. Whenever I feel the need to create something purely for the fun it, it usually turns out to be a dragon. This one was inspired by a drawing done by my very talented friend, Tania "Axl" Ernst. Polymer clay and epoxy clay over wire armature on wooden base, painted in acrylics. 9" tall. 2005. Sold. Photo by Dave Baker.
Fire Dragon Trophy Mount
Fire Dragon Trophy MountThis was my first attempt at cloth and paper mache using Dan (the monster-man) Reeder's methods. Directly sculpted over a wire armature fixed to a wooden wall plaque, the plaque itself measures about 8.5" x 11.5". The whole piece protrudes about 15.5" from the wall once hung. It is 10" wide at the horns, and about 15" tall from the bottom of the plaque to the top of the horns. The eyes are hand painted glass cabochons, and the entire piece was painted with acrylics. 2017. Available for sale in my Etsy Shop.

Dragon Bust (2017)I've loved dragons since I was a child. Whenever I feel the need to create something purely for the fun it, it usually turns out to be a dragon. Polymer clay and epoxy clay over wire and foil armature on wooden base, painted in acrylics, with hand-painted glass eyes. 11.5" tall. 2017. Available for sale in my Etsy Shop.
Cthulhu Elf
Cthulhu ElfFor 2010, my Christmas Cthulhu was a pure sculpt rather than a needle felted figure. This is Cthulhu as one of Santa's elves. Epoxy clay over wire armature, painted in acrylics. 6.5" tall. 2010. Sold.
Kappa
KappaThe Kappa is a character from Japanese legend, a water demon that looks like a short, wrinkled man with a beaked nose and a turtle shell on his back. Kappas live in rivers and eat unwary people, especially children. There are two ways to keep yourself safe from the kappa, however. First, kappas love cucumbers, so if you carve your name into a cucumber and throw it into the river, the kappa will find it and remember you. He will spare you should you ever run into him. Second, the kappa's strength comes from the water. He has a depression in the top of his head that carries water so he is never without it. If you should run into a kappa, all you need to do is bow. He will have to bow in return, and when he does the water will spill out of the bowl in his head. He will be powerless until he can return to the river, which gives you time to run for your life. Polymer clay and epoxy clay over wire armature on wooden base, painted in cel vinyl. 11" tall. 2004. Sold
Cthulhu Jaguar Warrior
Cthulhu Jaguar WarriorThis was a commissioned sculpture. A customer asked for a cthulhu character as a jaguar warrior, so I ran with it! Epoxy clay painted with acrylic paint, plus a few real feathers as a headdress. 3 1/4" tall. 2013.
Lost
LostThis is a sculpture I created while I was going through a divorce, as a way to describe how I felt. Some time after finishing her, I realized I'd forgotten to give her ears. In hindsight, it seemed appropriate because I remember not wanting to hear what anyone was telling me. I just wanted to stop feeling so lost. Polymer clay over wire armature, unpainted. 11" long, 5" tall. 2005. Sold.
Direbeak Hatchling
