| Buddha
This is a depiction of the Buddha I was inspired to paint after I heard
"The Birthday Party," a song by Peter
Mayer. The text in the painting is the opening line of the song.

| Mab Morrighan
This is a portrait of my friend Mab as The Morrighan. In Celtic legend,
The Morrighan is the goddess of war and death and she sometimes took the
shape of a crow or raven, or was accompanied by these birds.

| Hugin and Munin
This is a study I did for a sculpture project involving the Norse god Odin's
twin ravens, Hugin and Munin. Legend tells us that Odin sent Hugin and Munin
out every day at dawn to fly over the world and bring back news of everything
they observed.

| Robot Knight
"Robot dark knight" was another Daily
Sketch Group topic. Often when I read the daily topic, ridiculous ideas pop

rides off in search of his nemesis, the robot white knight ...

| The River Guardian
This was the first thing I created after my copy of Painter 8 had arrived in
the mail. "River guardian" was the Daily
Sketch Group topic that day, and I liked my sketch enough to want to refine
it a little bit. I had fun trying out lots of different media brushes in
Painter on this one.
